Malaysia e-Invoice (MyInvois): Implementation Timeline & How to Prepare
By ZenMatrix · Last checked against LHDN’s timeline page (updated 30 August 2026) on 31 October 2026.
What is MyInvois?
Malaysia’s Inland Revenue Board (LHDN / IRBM) is phasing in mandatory e-Invoicing. Invoices are validated through LHDN’s MyInvois system — either through the MyInvois Portal or by connecting business software through LHDN’s API.
Implementation timeline
| Targeted taxpayers | Implementation date |
|---|---|
| Annual turnover or revenue of more than RM100 million | 1 August 2024 |
| More than RM25 million and up to RM100 million | 1 January 2025 |
| More than RM5 million and up to RM25 million | 1 July 2025 |
| Up to RM5 million | 1 January 2026 |
According to the same LHDN page, taxpayers with an annual turnover or revenue of less than RM3,000,000 are exempted from e-Invoice implementation.
Check the latest guideline before acting. LHDN’s e-Invoice Guideline and FAQs set out additional rules — for example for new businesses starting operations from 2026, and concessionary periods — and different versions of these documents have stated different thresholds and dates. Confirm your own date against the current e-Invoice Guideline.
How to prepare
- Confirm your annual turnover or revenue band and your implementation date.
- Decide how you will submit: the MyInvois Portal (manual), or software connected to LHDN’s API (suitable for higher invoice volumes).
- Make sure your customer and supplier records hold the details e-Invoices require.
- Test with your software before your implementation date.
